Group Therapy

Most of my clients are men, I am passionate about supporting men’s mental health, and I have successfully run Men’s processing groups since 2023.

The group is for folks who identify as male and is a space where folks can practice relational skills, vulnerability, being authentic, connecting to  body, connecting to emotions, processing trauma/grief, and addressing shame/judgement. We will explore masculinity, social norms, hurt, anger, expectations, mental health, relationships, family, self-esteem, body image, parenting, upbringing, and needs.

It’s always important to acknowledge if a person holding space isn’t of the same identity/demographic. I am a woman/femme, some men may not feel comfortable with that, in which case I would be happy to offer referrals to groups run by male presenting folks. Many participants have claimed that they have benefited from having a therapeutic female presence and perspective in the room. Some have complemented way I have fostered a safe space and environment for men to process and connect.

Men’s Processing Group (weekly)

Graduate Men’s Processing Group (monthly)

If there is enough interest, I am considering offering graduate options for those who have gone through the weekly Men’s processing group, whether with me, other providers, or other similar groups. This is a great option for those who can’t commit to weekly sessions or need additional support/connection with other men. You MUST have completed a group therapy before, preference for Men’s Processing Group. This is not a good options for those who haven’t had previous group experience and are just starting to practice exploring the topics listed on this page. This is still a concept, no date/time has been set. I would love to build a waitlist, get more feedback, and get something going!

FAQ’s

  • A consultation is required to join group therapy in order to make sure the group is a fit for your therapy needs, answer any questions, and what curiosites and explorations you may have.

  • Show up once a week for at least two months. If after two months, you feel that the group isn’t a fit, you aren’t required to stay. Two months ensures that you give the group a fair shot, build some connection, and gain a better understanding of what to expect.

  • The cost is $45 a session, weekly sessions. Sliding scale options are available and limited.

Most major insurances are accepted, please see the payment page on benefits/drawbacks of using insurance for therapy.

  • Unfortunately, no. The groups are closed, which means that the same people commit to coming to a specific group each week (with the exception of people leaving/joining). Folks wanting to join the group will have to go through a consultation and intake process in order to make sure the group is a fit for them. This also allows the group to prepare for and process any changes and transitions in group dynamics.

  • That’s the number one concern of most members! Most folks are afraid of being weird, different, that they’re the only ones experiencing something, that the other members are going to exclude them, that they wont be able to connect, etc.

And it’s never been the case! Plus, I’ll be there to support you through the process.
